    Hi ricksite –
Where did you buy the Platon? Should the OSB be 3/4″ or can you go with a thinner subfloor over Platon and a basement floor?

Or you could always do what they do in commerical buildings sometimes and if your concrete floor is halfway level you can ramset 4X8 sheets of CDX Plywood right to the concrete

I recently put some of this product in my basement. If you sand the edges that stick out smooth it will go together quite well, otherwise you are in for a lot of misery. It warmed my floor up nicely.

I put some of this down recently and if you sand the edges that stick out with a small orbit sander with 80 or 100 grit paper the pieces will actually go together fairly easy, otherwise your in for one great big bunch of misery…. I also use 5/8″ brads with my small nail gun to make sure. It has made my basement shop a lot more comfortable.

    For a similar but …
For a similar but cheaper solution, buy a roll of Platon and 4×8 sheets of OSB subfloor. I found this to be about a quarter of the cost of dricore.

Also, many flooring materials (adhesive tile, vinyl, etc…) will require a layer of underlayment to get a nice flat, smooth surface.
