I have a few questions
~Does the grass hurt more than the spring floor?
~I've done my back handsprings on the school gym mats and it doesn't hurt so should i try in the grass?

I have to stop going to gymnastics because I can't afford it and I'm doing athletics next year so I really have to learn in the grass because i dont have any mats at home and my mattress isnt gonna work for me

Any tips will help

THX!!!

You can def. do it on the grass it helps you get more balance than it would on a mat. I use to do this when i wasn't at the gym…. But it is a good idea to do it on the grass but for some ppl they think its harder so you should just try the grass if it doesn't work you can always buy a mat.

I'm a gymnast and I have horrible wrists. Do wrist strengthening exercises (for example have your palm face downward and lift a 5lb weight using your wrists while watching TV or something) before attempting anything outside. The ground can be really hard and is not flat like your school mats so be careful. Maybe try to put something soft on the ground like a blanket while flipping outside

Should you?..no. I reccomend you do them on a safer and softer surface. Can it be done on grass? YES. If you know how to do the handspring safely with proper technique, you still need to do this in a local gym or club that has mats. Spring floors are best. Also have a spotter to be there at all times.
